Biographical Information

Yuji Maeda pitched for the Fukui Nexus Elephants in 2009, and the Orix Buffaloes selected him in the 4th round of the 2009 NPB draft. He had a 5.91 ERA in 20 relief outings in 2010, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues for the entire 2011 season. Maeda went 3-2 with a 1.30 ERA in 2012, and he was 3-4 with a 2.68 ERA in 2013. However, he suffered from a left elbow injury and missed the 2014 season. Maeda's ERA was 5.09 in 15 appearances in 2015, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Maeda went 7-7 with a 2.98 ERA, struck out 93 and pitched 130 innings in 4 seasons in NPB.
