Biographical Information

Yuji Goshima played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.

Goshima was drafted by the Orix BlueWave in the 3rd round of the 1994 NPB draft as a pitcher, and he spent his first five seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues. He was turned into a first baseman in 1998, and he got 4 at-bats in 1999. Goshima played 45 games with a .262/.328/.361 batting line in 2000, and he hit .258/.315/.308 in 2001. He then crushed a career-high 7 homers with a .248/.318/.394 in 2002, but his batting line fell to .182/.321/.227 in 2003. Goshima only got 17 at-bats for the top team before he announced his retirement in 2005, and he was an assistant coach for Kanazawa Gakuin University and Higashi Nippon International University.

Overall, Goshima hit .247/.315/.350 with 124 hits and 10 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
