Biographical Information[edit]
Second baseman Yuichi Fukuda played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 4 years.
Fukuda signed with the Kokutetsu Swallows in 1950, and he played 137 games with 10 triples and a .223/.273/.302 batting line. He was 4th in triples in the Central League, tied with Jiro Kanayama. Fukuda then slumped to .206/.282/.276 in 1951, and he struggled again in 1952 as his batting line was .211/.268/.273. He played 102 games with a .210/.275/.262 batting line in 1953, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Fukuda hit .214/.276/.283 with 264 hits and 8 homers in 4 seasons in NPB.
