Biographical Information

Yu Matsumoto played for the Fukui Nexus Elephants of the Baseball Challenge League from 2017 to 2018, and the Yakult Swallows picked him in the 2nd round of the development phase in the 2019 NPB draft. He was 2-for-10 in 2020, and he went 12-for-24 in 2021. Matsumoto had a 6-for-17 record in 2022, and he announced his retirement in 2023. He later became a police officer.
