Yosuke Shimabukuro led Konan High School to titles in the 2010 Spring Koshien and 2010 Summer Koshien. It was the first time that a high school from Okinawa won the Koshien title, and Konan was the 6th school to won both Koshien titles in the same year. Shimabukuro was 12-20 with a 2.16 ERA in his college career, and he was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 5th round of the 2014 NPB draft; the scout was Atsushi Fukumoto. However, he suffered from a left elbow injury, so he only pitched 2 games for the top team before he announced his retirement in 2019.
