Biographical Information[edit]
Yoshiyuki Noguchi had played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.
Noguchi was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the first round of the 1999 NPB draft, and he spent his first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He was 11-for-47 in 2002, and he went 2-for-17 in 2003. Noguchi then recorded a .232/.325/.493 batting line with 4 homers in 29 games in 2004, but he suffered from right shoulder injury and he missed three seasons. He was 8-for-29 in 2008 after returning, and he played 74 games with a .263/.318/.338 batting line in 2009. However, he then slumped to .087/.192/.087 in 2010, and he went 2-for-14 in 2011. He had a .263/.333/.289 batting line in 2012, and he hit .286/.302/.381 in 35 games in 2014. Noguchi announced his retirement after that season.
Overall, Noguchi hit .237/.304/.370 with 84 hits and 8 homers in 9 seasons in NPB. He played in every position except catcher.
