Biographical Information

Yoshitomo Higa was drafted by the Lotte Orions in the first round of the 1984 NPB draft after they lost the lottery for the rights to Jun Kawabata, and he was the first player from Okinawa to be selected in the first round. He only pitched one game with the big club in 1986 (allowing one hit in three shutout innings, walking one and striking out two), and he announced his retirement in 1987.
