Biographical Information[edit]
Yoshiki Tanaka was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 5th round of the 1993 NPB draft, and he stayed in the minors in his firs two seasons. He was 4-3 with a 8.36 ERA in 1996, then he went 3-1 with a 5.47 ERA in 1997. Tanaka pitched 8 games with a 6.91 ERA in 1998, and he allowed 9 runs in 4 1/3 innings in 1999. He had a 3.44 ERA in 11 appearances in 2000, but he failed to return to the big club before he announced his retirement in 2003.
Overall, Tanaka was 4-6 with a 6.07 ERA, struck out 81 and pitched 105 1/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
