Biographical Information

Yoshihiko Yamamoto was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 7th round of the 2001 NPB draft, and he stayed in the minors in his first four seasons. He went 7-for-31 in 2006, but he only got 6 more at-bats in the next three seasons. When Kenta Kurihara was injured in 2010, Yamamoto got some chances and he was 11-for-43. He had a 9-for-27 record in 2011, and he announced his retirement in 2012.

Overall, Yamamoto hit .252/.264/.290 with 27 hits in 5 seasons in NPB.
