Biographical Information

Yasuji Matsuzaki was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the 2nd round of the 1976 NPB draft, and he didn't get any at-bats for the top team in his first three seasons. He was 9-for-24 in 1980, and he went 1-for-17 in 1981. Matsuzaki stayed in the minors for the entire 1982 season, and he announced his retirement. He hit for a cycle against the Lotte Orions in the minors in '80.
