Biographical Information[edit]

Yannick Brot has played in the Bundesliga and for the Swiss national team.

Brot was on the Swiss team in the 2015 B-Level European Championship but did not get into a game. [1] He allowed one run in 1 1/3 IP in the 2019 B-Level European Championship. [2] That summer, he had gone 4-3 with a 2.35 ERA and hit .359/.474/.489 in the Swiss Ligue Nationale A. [3] By 2021, he was playing in Germany, going 0-2 with a 17.61 ERA for the Ulm Falcons. [4] In the 2021 European Championship Qualifier, he had a 4.91 ERA and went 2-for-2 with 2 walks, a HBP, 3 steals, 5 runs and 3 RBI. [5]

He had a 4-1, 1.62 record in Switzerland in '22, hitting .282/.378/.308 while going 0-2 with a 6.39 ERA and hitting .292/.373/.306 in Germany. [6] He produced at a .200/.357/.200 with 3 steals in 3 tries in the 2022 European Championship Qualifier, tying for 7th in swipes. [7] He was 1-0 with a 1.97 ERA in the Ligue Nationale A in 2023 and eked out a .147/.310/.176 line. [8] It is unclear if he played or where in 2024.

The left-hander was 1-0 with a 1.32 ERA for the 2025 Luzerne Eagles and batted .412/.511/.500. [9] He then made the Swiss team for the 2025 European Championship. He was Switzerland's best pitcher in a 18-0, 4-inning mercy rule loss to Italy, relieving Simon Steffen and allowing 7 hits, 6 walks and 6 runs (all earned) in 3 2/3 IP; Aaron Sutter took over. Their other hurlers that day totaled 1/3 IP, 5 H, 6 BB and 5 R (all earned). He also closed out their 9-1 loss to Israel, replacing Steffen and retiring Brett Holtz. [10]
