Biographical Information[edit]
Wendell Elizabeth was 0-3 with a 24.47 ERA in five games for the Netherlands Antilles national team in the 1988 Baseball World Cup, walking 18 in 10 2/3 IP though he led the team with 11 K as well. The southpaw tied Hideo Nomo, Roberto Cabalisti, Manuel Jimenez and Peter Callenbach for the most losses in the Cup, led in walks (two ahead of Roberto Reyes), was second in runs allowed (29, 2 behind Jimenez) and led in earned runs (29, 7 ahead of Callenbach). He lost to South Korea's Kwang-woo Lee, the Netherlands' Geoffrey Kohl and Taiwan's Ping-Yang Huang. [1] He remained with them for the 1991 Pan American Games, which he led with 12 walks [2]
