Walker Gentz
Biographical Information[edit]
Walker Gentz attended the above universities and completed a bachelor's degree in computer science at St. Ambrose University in 2021. He worked as a baseball student manager with both the University of Iowa Hawkeyes (2017-2019) and the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees (2021). At the latter he served as the team's lead data analyst.
The Chicago Cubs hired Gentz in 2022 to work as a development coach with the Tennessee Smokies. Gentz's stint with the Cubs only lasted one season. In 2023, he served as the pitching coach for the Clinton LumberKings in the summer collegiate Prospect League. After the season, he joined the Iowa Central Community College Tritons as their pitching coach where he remained in 2026.
