Nice contributions. Can you credit your sources, though? - --Mischa 21:37, 16 December 2006 (EST)

Thanks for your input. I mostly write these biographies from memory and only check source materials when I am in doubt of something. This method makes it difficult and time consuming for me to credit sources.

I have also found source materials unreliable.

For example, Bob Levy's Major league Baseball Transactions, 1946, claimed that Jim Tabor was in the Navy, however, Baseball, the Biographical Encyclopedia" said he was in the Army.

I finally had to check my old 1940’s Who's Who in Baseball to resolve this conflict, and went with Army because that is what Who‘s Who said.

Another example of unreliable source materials would be the failure of Stats’ “All-Time Baseball Source Book” to list the years when Lonny Frey batted from both sides of the plate, and when he changed forever to batting left-handed.

I could write a book on errors I have found in source materials.

I will give some consideration, however, to your request.

Thank you.
