Biographical Information[edit]

Tsuyoshi Jobe played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.

Jobe was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 5th round of the 1999 NPB draft, and he allowed 3 runs in 3 innings in 2000. He went 7-8 with 6 saves and a 4.02 ERA in 46 games in 2001, and he was the first Giants pitcher to get a save before turning 20. Jobe went 2-3 with a 3.16 ERA in 47 games in 2002, and he pitched a shutout inning in the 2002 Nippon Series Game 3. The Giants swept the Seibu Lions. However, Jobe suffered from shoulder injury, so he only pitched 9 games with a 10.13 ERA in 2003. He had 8 more appearances for the big club before he announced his retirement in 2005.

Overall, Jobe was 9-13 with 6 saves and a 4.58 ERA, struck out 113 and pitched 125 2/3 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
