Biographical Information[edit]
Tsuneyuki Shimada played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.
Shimada signed with the Mainichi Orions in 1952, and he was 5-for-18 in his first season. He played 81 games with a .182/.217/.227 batting line in 1953, and he crushed 3 homers with a .186/.226/.256 batting line in 1954. Shimada hit .228/.274/.306 in 132 games in 1955, but Yutaka Sudo then took his starting second baseman spot. He only played 64 games with a .220/.280/.248 batting line in 1956, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Shimada hit .208/.252/.271 with 184 hits and 5 homers in 5 seasons in NPB.
