Biographical Information[edit]
Tsuneyoshi Yamamoto signed with the Toei Flyers in 1961, and he stayed in the minors in his first six seasons. He was 0-for-5 in 1968, and he went 9-for-38 in 1969. Yamamoto had a 8-for-46 record in 1970, and he only got 6 at-bats combined in the next two seasons and the Flyers traded him to the Taiyo Whales for Manabu Nemoto and Noboru Fujiike. However, he only played three more games before he announced his retirement in 1979. Yamamoto later became the battery coach for the Whales from 1980 to 1984 and for the Whales from 1985 to 1988.
Overall, Yamamoto hit .194/.245/.248 with 19 hits in 6 seasons in NPB.
