Biographical Information[edit]
Toshio Inoko played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 3 years.
Inoko signed with the Nankai Hawks in 1941, and he hit 192/.260/.200 in 43 games in his first season. He then collected 33 sacrifice bunts with a .198/.286/.246 batting line in 1942, and he set the NPB record for most sacrifice bunts in a season (broken by Akihito Kondo in 1965) Inoko still held the Nankai/Softbank Hawks team record until Munenori Kawasaki broke it in 2009. He hit .174/.268/.218 in 1943, then he enlisted into the military and his professional career ended.
Overall, Inoko hit .187/.275/.228 with 147 hits and 2 homers in 3 seasons in NPB.
