The Lotte Orions picked him in the 3rd round of the 1974 NPB draft, and he was 6-for-41 in 1975. He spent the next two seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues as he only got 25 at-bats for the big club, then he had a 20-for-64 record in 1978. The Yamaguchi native recorded a .291/.305/.423 batting line in 1982, and he crushed a career-high 16 homers with a .227/.258/.391 batting line in 1983. He shared a starting spot with Hideaki Takazawa in 1984, and he hit .243/.302/.393 in 90 games. Yoshioka then had a .288/.335/.425 batting line in 76 appearances in 1985, and he slumped to .146/.167/.171 in 1986. He went 8-for-50 in 1987, and he announced his retirement. He later became a scout, signing Yasuyuki Kawamoto.
