Biographical Information

Toshiaki Tanaka played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 4 years.

Tanaka signed with the Yomiuri Giants in 1947, and he collected 20 steals with a .241/.295/.279 batting line in his first season. He lost his spot at shortstop when Katsumi Shiraishi returned in 1948, and he played 80 games with a .286/.336/.337 batting line. Tanaka went 7-for-38 in 1949, and he left the team after he had conflict with manager Osamu Mihara. The Taiyo Whales signed him, and he hit .281/.324/.313 in 1950 then he announced his retirement

Overall, Tanaka hit .260/.312/.300 with 229 hits and 2 homers in 4 seasons in NPB.
