Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association
The Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association existed from 1976 to 1996. The TIAA was an NCAA Division III and NAIA college athletic conference whose members were exclusively in Texas. The conference does appear to have sponsored baseball until 1988 when Tarleton State added the sport. Only 4 schools competed in any single year, except 1996 when McMurry joined for the final year of the conference's history.
Wayland Baptist University was extended an invitation in 1991 and was expected to accept, but the conference announced plans to eliminate all scholarships by 1995, so the school declined. [1]
