Tamio Nakamura played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 4 years.
Nakamura signed with the Tokyo Senators in 1936, and he was 9-for-36 in the fall season. He then hit .252/.323/.343 with 10 doubles in the 1937 spring season, and he tied Kenjiro Matsuki, Haruyasu Nakajima, Kazuo Kito, Fumio Fujimura and Osamu Tsutsui for 10th in doubles in the Japan Professional Baseball League. Nakamura's batting line was .262/.353/.372 in 44 games in the fall season, but he enlisted into the military so he missed the next four seasons. He returned with the Taiyo club in 1942, and he went 11-for-51 in 18 games. Nakamura then hit .192/.237/.251 in 73 games in 1943, and he announced his retirement. He later coached Kumamoto Technical High School from 1948 to 1960.
Overall, Nakamura hit .229/.297/.307 with 148 hits and 4 homers in 5 seasons in NPB.
