Kori was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the 7th round of the 2016 NPB draft.[1] He primarily stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first four seasons, and he only got 11 at-bats combined for the big club. Kori then hit .188/.263/.232 in 33 games in 2021, and he struggled again in 2022 as his batting line was .125/.197/.250 in 26 games. He only played 7 games for the top team in 2023, and the Fighters traded him to the Yomiuri Giants for Akihiro Wakabayashi. Kori still didn't get many chances after changing teams, and he only got 6 at-bats combined in the next two seasons.
