Takumi Kitamura has played in Nippon Pro Baseball. His brother is Japanese national baseball team infielder Shoji Kitamura
Kitamura was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 4th round of the 2017 NPB draft; the scout was Hiroshi Kisanuki. He spent his first two seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he only played 6 games combined with the big club. Kitamura hit .227/.326/.333 in 57 games in 2020, and he played 53 games with a .250/.317/.413 batting line in 2021. However, he slumped to .173/.204/.231 in 2022, and he went 7-for-34 in 2023. The Yakult Swallows then selected him in the 2023 NPB Active draft, but he struggled in 2024 as he went 5-for-40.
