Takuma Kubo pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 4 years.
Kubo was picked by the Yakult Swallows in the 7th round of the 2018 NPB draft, and he had a 5.73 ERA in 16 appearances in 2019. His ERA was 5.93 in 10 games in 2020, and he spent the entire 2021 season in the NPB Farm Leagues. Kubo notched 7 holds with a 2.70 ERA in 29 appearances in 2022, and he completed 1/3 of an inning in each of 2022 Nippon Series Game 2 and 6; the Swallows lost to the Orix Buffaloes in 6 games. Kubo allowed 3 runs in 3 innings in 2023, and he announced his retirement. He later became a batting practice pitcher for the Buffaloes.
Overall, Kubo was 1-1 with 9 holds a 4.29 ERA, struck out 46 and pitched 54 1/3 innings in 4 seasons in NPB.
