Biographical Information[edit]
Takeshi Tsuji played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.
Tsuji was drafted by the Daiei Hawks in the 5th round of the 1997 NPB draft, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first four seasons. He hit .289/.308/.316 in 19 games in 2002, then he slumped to .143/.172/.179 in 2003. Tsuji was 2-for-21 in 2004, and he only played one game in 2005. He then recorded a .193/.303/.368 batting line in 34 games in 2006, and his batting line was .200/.245/.267 in 2007. When Hitoshi Tamura was injured in 2008, Tsuji got some chances and he played a career-high 87 games with a .274/.308/.387 batting line. However, he slumped to .125/.125/.125 in 2009, and he announced his retirement in 2010. He later coached the Kochi Fighting Dogs in 2011, and he was the manager of the Tochigi Golden Braves from 2017 to 2018.
Overall, Tsuji hit .222/.268/.313 with 73 hits in 8 seasons in NPB.
