Takeaki Yamasaki pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.
Yamasaki was 23-13 with a 1.20 ERA in his college career, and he won the Best Nine award once. He signed with the Toei Flyers in 1964, and he only pitched 2 games combined in his first four seasons. He recorded a 4.09 ERA in 27 appearances in 1968, and he allowed 9 runs in 7 1/3 innings in 1969. Yamasaki was 1-1 with a 5.12 ERA in 1970, and he surrendered 14 runs in 11 innings in 1971. He bounced back with a 1.29 ERA in 20 relief outings in 1972, and he pitched a career-high 39 games with a 2.94 ERA in 1973. However, his ERA rose to 10.00 in 11 games in 1974, and he was released. Yamasaki signed with the Lotte Orions, and he pitched 5 games with a 4.50 ERA in 1975 then he announced his retirement. He was Lotte's assistant coach in 1983, and he coached their minors team from 1991 to 1993. Yamasaki passed away in 1995 a due to car accident.
Overall, Yamasaki went 4-6 with a 4.69 ERA, struck out 119 and pitched 216 2/3 innings in 9 seasons in NPB.
