Biographical Information[edit]
Takayuki Ryu played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 3 years.
Ryu signed with the Tokyo Orions in 1964, and he pitched 10 games with a 8.00 ERA in his first season. He improved to a 3.08 ERA in 29 appearances in 1965, and he pitched 45 games with a 2.50 ERA in 1966. Ryu only pitched 5 more games for the big club, and he announced his retirement in 1968. He later became a professional bowler.
Overall, Ryu was 2-2 with a 4.56 ERA, struck out 48 and pitched 74 2/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
