Biographical Information[edit]

Takayuki Oshima was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 3rd round of the 2001 NPB draft, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first three seasons. He was 2-2 with a 8.33 ERA in 2005, and his ERA was 12.94 in 5 games in 2006. Oshima allowed 6 runs in 3 1/3 innings in 2007, then he pitched 16 games with a 3.98 ERA in 2008. He then surrendered 14 runs in 9 2/3 innings in 2009, and he finally got some chances when Katsuhiro Nagakawa and Mike Schultz injured in 2010. Oshima pitched a career-high 53 games with a 5.14 ERA, and he was 5-3 with 9 holds. His ERA was 1.64 in 7 relief outings in [[2011 NPB|2011], but he only pitched one more game before he announced his retirement in 2014.

Overall, Oshima was 3-14 with a 6.68 ERA, struck out 109 and pitched 155 innings in 7 seasons in NPB.
