Biographical Information[edit]
Takayuki Kuriki played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years.
Kuriki signed with the Mainichi Orions in 1950, and he hit .274/.314/.386 with 6 triples in his first season. He was the first player in the Pacific League whose first two homers were leading off the game, and he was 8th in triples (tied with Hiroshi Arakawa, Hiroshi Oshita, Bunjiro Sakamoto, Seiji Sekiguchi and Takeshi Suzuki). Kuriki then slumped to .204/.239/.272 in 1954, and he jumped to the Tombo Unions. He crushed a career-high 6 homers with a .241/.274/.324 batting line in 1955, and he played 117 games with a .200/.241/.304 batting line in 1956. Kuriki went 8-for-44 in 1957, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Kuriki hit .231/.269/.323 with 252 hits and 15 homers in 5 seasons in NPB.
