Biographical Information

Takaya Toda pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.

Toda was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 3rd round of the 2011 NPB draft, and he only pitched 4 games combined in his first two seasons. He notched 6 holds with a 3.32 ERA in 30 appearances in 2014, and he went 3-3 with 5 holds and a 2.63 ERA in 2015. Toda was 4-0 with a 2.80 ERA in 17 relief outings in 2016, but he then suffered from a left elbow injury. He only pitched 10 more games for the top team before he announced his retirement in 2022.

Overall, Toda was 11-7 with a 3.94 ERA and 12 holds, struck out 146 and pitched 205 2/3 innings in 7 seasons in NPB.
