Biographical Information

Takashi Uemoto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 12 years. His brother Hiroki Uemoto also played in NPB.

Uemoto was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 3rd round of the 2012 NPB draft, and he was 2-for-26 in 2013. He only got 15 at-bats combined for the big club in the next four seasons, and he had a 1-for-11 record in 2018. Uemoto was 3-for-21 in 2019, and he played 56 games with a .212/.305/.250 batting line in 2020. He hit .273/.302/.309 in 2021, and he had his career year in 2022. Uemoto was one of Hiroshima's starting outfielders, and he hit .307/.376/.372 in 94 games. Had he qualified, he would've been 3rd in the Central League in average (behind Munetaka Murakami and Yohei Ohshima) and tied Ohshima for 2nd in OBP, behind Murakami. His batting line was .259/.317/.308 in 2023, and he slumped to .209/.255/.225 in 2024. Uemoto was 5-for-27 in 2025, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Uemoto hit .250/.317/.294 with 211 hits in 12 seasons in NPB.
