Biographical Information[edit]

Takashi Masuda played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.

Masuda signed with the Daiei Stars in 1950, and he hit .250/.295/.353 in 93 games in his first season. He then had a .252/.297/.384 batting line in 1951, but he slumped to .184/.239/.210 in 1952. Masuda bounced back with a .247/.326/.372 batting line in 1953, and he played 119 games with a .229/.308/.347 batting line in 1954. He broke Atsushi Aramaki's no-hit bid in the 11th inning with a game-winning solo home run on May 24, 1956 and he ended up hitting .262/.296/.339 that season. Masuda had a .239/.274/.294 batting line in 1956, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Masuda hit .237/.291/.328 with 474 hits and 22 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
