Biographical Information

Takashi Maruyama was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the 6th round of the 2004 NPB draft, and he allowed 4 runs in 2 1/3 innings in 2005. He pitched 11 games with a 5.70 ERA in 2006, and he also had a 1.15 ERA in 12 appearances for the West Oahu CaneFires in the winter. Maruyama didn't reach the big club in 2007 (2-5, 2.95 in the minors), and his ERA was 4.05 in 3 games for the Waikiki Beach Boys. He had a 3.38 ERA in 7 relief outings in 2008, but his ERA rose to 7.04 in 9 games in 2009 and he announced his retirement.
