Biographical Information[edit]
Takashi Maema was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 3rd round of the 1989 NPB draft, and he spent his first 7 seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He also went 1-8 with a 7.16 ERA for the Gate City Pioneers in 1990, tying Mike Fier for the Pioneer League lead in losses. Maema finally reached the big club in 1996, and he went 3-2 with a 3.88 ERA. He allowed 7 runs in 5 1/3 innings in 1997, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Maema went 3-2 with a 4.67 ERA, struck out 36 and pitched 54 innings in 2 seasons in NPB.
