Biographical Information[edit]
Takahiro Imanami played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 10 years.
Imanami was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the 7th round of the 2006 NPB draft, and he spent his first three seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues; he only got 5 at-bats for the big club combined. He hit .244/.292/.267 in 29 games in 2010, and he played 84 games with a .240/.273/.291 batting line in 2011; he backed up Bobby Scales and Kensuke Tanaka at 2B and Makoto Kaneko and Yuji Iiyama at SS. Imanami only got 13 appearances in 2012 due to injuries, and he batted .242/.306/.273 in 91 games in 2013; he totaled 150 plate appearances, primarily backing up [[Takuya Nakashima ]] at 3B. The Fighters then traded him to the Yakult Swallows for Tatsuyoshi Masubuchi, and he was 8-for-38 in 2014. Imanami got the starting shortstop spot after Keiji Obiki was injured in the middle of the 2015 season, and he recorded a .317/.375/.431 batting line in 68 games. He went 4-for-14 in the 2015 Nippon Series, but the Swallows lost to the SoftBank Hawks in 5 games. Imanami had a .279/.371/.368 batting line in 94 games in 2016 (mostly splitting first with Takahiro Araki and Kazuhiro Hatakeyama as Obiki was back at SS), but he only got 15 at-bats in 2017 and he retired.
Overall, Imanami hit .261/.322/.327 with 196 hits and 3 homers in 10 seasons in NPB; he had 857 plate appearances over 405 games.
