Biographical Information

Tadashige Matsumoto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.

Matsumoto signed with the Nankai Hawks in 1948, and he had a 2.65 ERA in 9 appearances in his first season. He went 5-0 with a 2.51 ERA in 1949, and he had a 5-6 record with a 3.80 ERA in 1950. Matsumoto was 1-1 with a 2.43 ERA in 17 appearances in 1951, and he jumped to the Tokyu Flyers. He went 8-7 with a 3.95 ERA in 1952, but he allowed 17 runs in 13 1/3 innings in 1953 and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Matsumoto was 19-14 with a 3.65 ERA, struck out 136 and pitched 374 1/3 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
