Biographical Information

Tadashi Kawano signed with the Yomiuri Giants in 1955, and he only played 2 games combined in his first three seasons. He hit .160/.227/.235 in a career-high 89 plate appearances and 76 games in 1959, and he was 5-for-29 in 68 games in 1960. Kawano had a 1-for-7 record in 1961, and he announced his retirement. Pinch-running often, he had more runs (128) than hits (117), going 12-for-16 in steals.
