Biographical Information[edit]

Tadashi Ishimine played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 10 years.

Ishimine was drafted by the Rakuten Golden Eagles in the 3rd round of the 2007 NPB draft, and he only got 19 at-bats combined in his first three seasons for the big club. Since the Golden Eagles already had star catcher Motohiro Shima, Ishimine had his path blocked. He was their primarily catcher behind Shima in 2011, and he recorded a .254/.296/.328 batting line in 33 games. He was 4-for-24 in 2012, and he went 4-for-34 in 2013. Ishimine had a 2-for-22 record in 2014, and he played a career-high 54 games with a .241/.308/.346 batting line in 2015, splitting action between catcher and first baseman. Ishimine slumped to .167/.200/.167 in 2016, and he only got one hit in 14 at-bats in 2017. He didn't reach the big club in 2018, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Ishimine hit .198/.252/.271 with 65 hits in 10 seasons in NPB.
