Biographical Information

Tadao Yamada signed with the Taiyo Whales in 1961, and he only played 7 games combined in his first four seasons since Taiyo already had star catcher Kiyoshi Doi. He went 5-for-38 in 1965, and he got 10 at-bats combined in the next two seasons. Yamada had a 13-for-53 record in 1968, and he only had 7 at-bats before he announced his retirement in 1971.

Overall, Yamada hit .181/.239/.257 with 19 hits in 8 seasons in NPB.
