Biographical Information[edit]
Susumu Satomi signed with the Daimai Orions in 1962, and he only got 11 at-bats combined in his first four seasons. He was 3-for-10 in 12 games in 1967, and he played 43 games with a 1-for-6 record in 1968. Satomi played 13 games as a defensive replacement in 1969, and the Nankai Hawks selected him in the active draft. Satomi only played 2 games in 1971, and he returned to the Orions. He appeared in 22 games in 1972, but he didn't get a single at-bat and he was released. The Nippon Ham Fighters signed him, but he didn't return to the big club again and he announced his retirement in 1973. He later coached the Fighters from 1976 to 1980. The outfielder-catcher had 29 plate appearances in 110 games, hitting .185/.179/.333.
