Biographical Information

Susumu Iwamoto signed with the Yomiuri Giants in 1961, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first season. He led the Eastern League in homers and RBI in 1962, and he only played 2 games for the big club. Iwamoto then jumped to the Daimai Orions, and he went 2-for-26 in 1963. He had a 12-for-41 record in 1964, and he won the batting title of the Western League. Iwamoto only got one at-bat for the big club in 1965, and he announced his retirement.
