Biographical Information[edit]
Sumiya Miyazawa played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Miyazawa signed with the Tokyu Flyers in 1951, and he had a 2-8 record with a 4.18 ERA in his first season. He was 8-9 with a 4.05 ERA in 1952, and he went 1-4 with a 3.91 ERA in 1953. Miyazawa's ERA was 3.21 with a 4-4 record in 1954, and he was 8-10 with a 3.14 ERA in 1955. He improved to 6-11 with a 2.73 ERA in 1956, but his ERA rose to 6.52 in 16 appearances in 1957 and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Miyazawa was 30-46 with a 3.53 ERA, struck out 203 and pitched 730 1/3 innings in 7 seasons in NPB.
