Biographical Information

Sumio Watanabe signed with the Hiroshima Carp in 1965, but he only pitched an inning in his career, doing so in 1967 (it was a hitless, walkless, scoreless frame). He also played 11 games in the outfield and 3 at catcher but never batted.
