Biographical Information

Souma Tokuyama has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Tokuyama represented Japan in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup, going 2-0 with a 2.51 ERA for the Bronze Medalists. He beat Mexico's Dario Gardea and the Netherlands' Donny Breek. He tied Matthew Liberatore, Ryan Weathers, Ginji Miura, Jun-won Seo and Jack O'Loughlin for the event lead in wins, tied Mohamed Alouai for the most starts (3) and tied for 10th in walks (8). The Yokohama BayStars selected him in the 2nd round of the 2021 NPB draft; the scout was Mikinori Hachiuma. He was 2-6 with a 3.49 ERA in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2022, and he went 1-2 with a 3.23 ERA there in 2023. He also pitched 10 games with a 2.70 ERA for the Canberra Cavalry in 2023-2024 ABL. Tokuyama joined the bullpen of the top team in 2024, and he had a 2.45 ERA in 29 appearances with 8 holds.
