Biographical Information

Sophie Willis has been on the Great Britain women's national team.

She played softball and baseball in college and had previously played rounders. In the 2022 European Women's Championship, Great Britain's debut in a European Women's Championship, she was on the team but did not get into a game. She made one appearance in the 2025 European Women's Championship, relieving Chereen Harrocks in the 4th with a 5-1 deficit, the bases loaded and one out against Czechia. She struck out Silvie Hanzalová and got Karolína Šritrová to hit into a force to escape the jam. In the 5th, though, she was rocked for five hits and five runs (four earned) then turned the ball over to Laura Bailes. While Britain lost the game, they won the event for their first Euros title; the men's British national team had never won a European Championship in decades (finishing second a few times). They won a spot in the 2026-2027 Women's Baseball World Cup.
