Biographical Information[edit]
Shuzo Konda signed with the Hiroshima Carp in 1950, and he crushed 3 homers with a .220/.260/.306 batting line in his first season. He amazingly held the team record for most homers by a rookie straight from high school until Kaito Kozono broke it in 2019. While he only had 198 PA, he was the team's 3rd-most-used outfielder after Kazuo Higasa and Akira Iwamoto. Konda hit .204/.237/.283 in 57 games in 1951, and he had a .187/.260/.253 batting line in 47 games in 1952 then he announced his retirement.
