Biographical Information

Shunsuke Kasaya has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Kasaya was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 4th round of the 2014 NPB draft; the scout was Ryutaro Fukuyama. He mainly stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first three seasons, and he only got 3 appearances for the top team. Kasaya had a 7.04 ERA in 9 games in 2018, and he only pitched 5 innings for the big club in 2019. He then went 4-4 with a 2.84 ERA in 2020, and he had a 3-4 record with a 4.27 ERA in 2021. Kasaya struggled in 2022 as his ERA was 6.35 in 16 games, and he was 3-1 with a 1.00 ERA for the Gigantes de Carolina in winter. He pitched 8 games with a 1.59 ERA in 2023, but he didn't reach the big club in 2024 and he was released. The Yokohama BayStars signed him, but Kasaya spent the 2025 season in the minors and he was released again.
