Biographical Information

Shunsuke Iwai has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Iwai was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 2nd round the 2023 NPB draft; the scout was Shogo Furusawa. He notched 5 saves with a 1.80 ERA in 21 games in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he pitched 15 games with a 3.46 ERA and a save for the big club. Iwai allowed 2 runs in 2 innings in the 2024 Nippon Series, and the Yokohama BayStars beat the Hawks in 6 games.
