Biographical Information

Shozo Nishimura signed with the Nankai Hawks in 1961, and he suffered from a shoulder injury so he only pitched 4 games for the big club in his first six seasons. He also had a 4.91 ERA in 5 appearances for the AIL Giants in 1964. Nishimura was 2-4 with a 1.92 ERA in 1967, but his ERA was 7.62 in 8 games in 1968. He pitched 10 games with a 4.50 ERA in 1969, and he announced his retirement in 1970.
